We offer legal advice for up to one 1/2 hour with pre-screened, experienced lawyers who volunteer their time to meet with you.
A minimal administrative fee of $40 is paid at the time of the appointment to help support our non-profit service which since 1988 has been sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Bar Association and Certified by the State Bar of California and which also meets the American Bar Association Standards for a Lawyer Referral Service.
If you live outside the Santa Cruz County area or cannot meet in a lawyer's office, we offer phone consultations in which we arrange an appointment for you to speak with a lawyer who handles the type of law you need. We charge the $40 administrative fee to your credit card.
When finances are a problem, we do have a Fee Waiver Program for Santa Cruz County residents, whereby the initial $40 fee can be waived if you meet certain financial qualifications. (A limited number of waivers are available.)
